On the borders of Black and Purple Périgord, at the gates of the Lot Valley, Biron provides a wide panorama. An area shaped by its turbulent story. Here we come to escape reality, in a countryside that looks like Tuscany and marvel at the foot of the high Fortress in the heart of the bastides country. Biron acts as an architectural emblem of the south-west, both in its excessiveness and quality of the periods conjunction. It also reflects the incredible talent and the fantastic inspiration of the builders from all periods. From the year 1000 to the present day, Biron invites you to an unique travel through time, Arts and the place’s majesty.

    Furnishing the Castle with the Mobilier National

    Thanks to the partnership between the Dordogne Department and the Mobilier National, you can now discover the beautifully refurbished 18th-century apartments. The Queen Jeanne d’Albret’s bedroom will be entirely redecorated to evoke the stay of the Queen of Navarre in January 1572 at the Château de Biron, where she negotiated with Armand de Gontaut-Biron, the Prince of Condé, and the Prince of Orange the terms of her son’s marriage—the future King Henri IV.

    New Historical and Scientific Researches in the Castle Chapel!

    In 2025, an in-depth study of the tombs will be conducted to unveil their mysteries. However, starting in February, visitors can already admire the fully restored tombs beneath the sculptures of the Pietà and the Entombment of Christ, inaugurated in 2024.

    Gourmet Tour – Sundays, February 9, 16, 23, and March 2 at 5:30 PM

    Embark on an enriching guided tour of the castle, complemented by tastings of local products. A flavorful journey through the cultural and gastronomic treasures of our beautiful region. Reservation required: €25 per person.

    Guided Tour: The Art of the Table! – Daily at 2:30 PM until March 2

    Join the guided tour of the castle and step into the Banquet Hall of Biron! Take a seat at the table, dressed in costume, and discover the art of dining in the Middle Ages!
