Château of Monbazillac

The Chateau of Monbazillac dates from around 1550 and has been the property of Monbazillac Cooperative Winery since 1960. Its architecture is a mix of balance and dissymmetry shaped by the demands of medieval defensive style and the beginning of Renaissance. This protestant stronghold has been a listed Historic Monument since 1941. The Chateau is furnished and open all the year long for self-guided or guided tours. After the tour a wine tasting is offered to each visitor.
