Overlooking the Dordogne valley from its rocky spur, the fortress has kept its defensive outer walls and its lauze stone roofs typical of the Sarladais area intact. An exhibit retracing Fénelon's rise and fall at the court of Louis the 14th is a moving tribute to the famous author of The Adventures of Telemachus in his birth place.
